Jane The Virgin is an American series created by Jennie Snyder Urman and adapted from the Venezuelan telenovela.

Jane the Virgin is 25 and lives with her grandmother and has promised to remain a virgin until her marriage with her fiancé Michael, who is a police lieutenant. She went on a medical appointment one day – and accidentally Jane was inseminated by Rafael instead of a woman named Petra, (wife of Rafael).

Rafael is the boss of a luxury hotel (Marbella). Jane works in Marbella, she is a waitress. Jane begins to have feelings for Rafael (the “donor”) who is also her boss, but Petra, Rafael’s wife, like Michael, quickly become jealous of this relationship.

At the same time, Xiomara, Jane’s mother, reunites with her daughter’s father upon discovering that he has become a telenovela star.
