I always wanted to visit America, but especially big ben.. I love the towers, visible from afar, known in the world, illuminating the night…..big ben is the name of the great clock that is found at the palace of westminster, unfortunately only people living in the United Kingdom can visit the clock tower, after obtaining permission. This tower weighs 13.5 tons. At first we call the clock the great bell but then we gave the name of a politician and engineer who had ordered the bell to be cast. his nickname was “ben” and he was “big”.In the strict sense, Big Ben is the name of the largest bell of the clock carillon, while the clock itself is the Great Westminster Clock.A bomb destroyed the House of Commons during the Second World War.the view from below is incredible, for me the most beautiful and striking tower remains big ben.
