PLOT

Since the appearance of a portal connecting our world to a world filled with monsters and creatures of all kinds, some people have acquired powers and the ability to hunt them: they are called “Hunters”.

The protagonist of the story, Sung Jin-Woo, is a South Korean E-rank hunter barely stronger than a normal human. One day, he and his party find themselves trapped in an extremely dangerous dungeon despite being previously detected as a D-rank dungeon. As he is about to be finished off, Sung Jin-Woo wakes up in a hospital where he is told that when reinforcements found him in the dungeon, there were no more monsters around.

He then discovers that he has an ability that turns him into a “Player”. He also discovers that he can progress through the ranks, which is normally not possible for a hunter.
