Corals in danger !

Corals are endangered because of global warming.

The temperature of ocean surface water has increased an average of 0.5 ° C from 1860 until today. Coral reefs are very sensitive to temperature changes due to their low adaptability.

To try to save coral reefs, we must act urgently and simultaneously against global and local threats: reduce pollution, protect areas that are still in good condition, restore degraded areas, develop a “blue economy” around reefs, which protects and values them.

Dying corals also mean that many fish are losing their habitat.
